The ROSE100's technology was developed in order to identify and prevent illegal recording of films projected in cinema theatres by pirates. The system consists of a detection head that is located near the screen .The detection head detects pirates that are trying to record the film with video camcorder , camera cell phone or similar within a few minutes. The system was developed with the support and funding of Motion Picture Laboratories Inc. (Palo Alto, CA)

Once a pirate is verified, an alert is sent to the central control room. In the control room a visual channel is connected to the specified cinema room while the device is aimed toward the person that is recording the film. When the operator in the central room approves the event, he sends to the Cinema complex ‘s supervisor an MMS message followed by a phone call . Only the images of the suspected person will be saved for further examination . The cinema ‘s supervisor shall decide then how to proceed by calling the security staff, police, etc.
